Registration
Certificates
Will Now Fit
ALBANY — Automobile owners
in New York State no longer will
have to figure out how to fold
their registration certificates to
fit into their wallets anymore.
The certificate, as well as the
number plate, has a new look for
1964. It is wallet-sized — 2V, by
3Vs inches — and pale blue in
color. It matches the size of the
punch card driver’s licenses
which made their debut two years
ago.
Th registration not only has
been reduced In size — the num-
yer of entries the owner must
make also are fewer. There is
one new space he must fill in,
however. He must enter the name
of his insurance company and
the number of the policy under
which he is providing financial
security.
This does not eliminate the nec
essity of submitting a new proof
of coverage (FS-1 form from bis
’’rsnrance agent’ with all appli-
jcattrus. This, cr other proof, al
so is required on all renewals
*nd original applications. Once
he proof ts submitted, it does not
have to be repeated when an
owner registers a different veh-
Icl later In the year. This lat
ter process is called re-regl«tra-
' tion.
