Typical of the continual social integration that is going on in the New Front­ ier in Washington, D.C. these days was seen last week when five Negro couples were among some 80 persons attending the dinner Vice President and Mrs. Igwdon Johnson gave at the State Department for King Sri Savang Vatthana of Laos. They included the Urban League’s Mr. and Mrs. Whitney Young, the NAACP’s Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs Hobart Taylor, of the Civil Rights Commission, At­ torney Belford Lawson and his wife, Judge Marjorie Lawson, and New York's State Senator and Mrs. James L. Watson, who had accompanied the Vice President to the Jamaican independence last year. NOTES HERE AND THERE . . . Last Friday’s Com­ mittee of Friends dance at the Park Terrace was his­ tory repeating itself in the form of the snow storm. Two years ago only the hardy made it to the club’s affair which benefits the Harlem YWCA and the NAACP’s Legal Redress Fund. And what makes things more disconcerting is the fact the Friends changed -their dance date to a near spring time so as td-avoid such a snow storm repeating . . . The lovely Mannequins have set May 26 for their dance at the Riviera Terrace ... Harry Novick is serving as chairman for the Ur­ ban League of Greater New York’s dinner on March 28 to honor former Parole Commissioner Samuel J. Teenagers Go To YW Conference Nineteen teenagers from Upper Manhattan Branch Young Women’s Christian Asso­ ciation were delegates to the Greater New York mid-winter Conference for high school girls at Stamford, Conn, last Satur­ day and Sunday.
