en around town. Most people who
have one-woman tor one-man >
shows, generally have one set
routiqe which they present when
ever they are asked. Miss Bur
rows,- however, has five different
one-woman shows she does, de
pending upon the type of aud
ience she is playing for.
Ohe of her favorite ehows Is en
titled “Shout Freedom.” In this
she allows man's struggle for free-
don). Included on the program
are psglms which she does in
both Hebrew and English, and ex
cerpts from the works of Alan
Payton and Walt Whitman.
’Mandingo," “Mrs. Patterson”
and “The Ponder Heart.” She
was seen in the Paris Festival
production of “The Skin of Our
Teeth” with Helen Hayes and
Mary Martin, and in Berlin with
Ethel Waters.
Miss Burrows has been with
“The Blacks” over a year now,
and she finds it “one of the most
stimulating plays I have ever
been in. Every night there is a
new excitement generated from
the audience which infuses It
self to the cast, thereby making
it a more rewarding experience.”
Gene Frankel directed “The
Blacks” whose cast includes Carl
Byrd, Peter DeAnda, Morris Er-
by, Clebert Ford, Louis Gossett,
Moses Gunn, Lynn Hamiltdn, Lin
coln Kilpatrick, Thelma Oliver,
Esther Rolle, Harold Scott and
Louise Stubbs. It is being present
ed by Sidney Bernstein, George
Edgar and Andre Gregory.
Another of Miss Burrows’ per
formances is entitled “Female of
the Species.” In this program
she includes seven vignettes (as
she pats it, “sort of a seven ages

"A Girl Named Tamlko," a ro
mantic drama starring Laurence
Harvey, France Nuyen, and Mar
tha Hyer, will open at Radio City
Music Hall on Thursday, March
14. On stage accompanying the
new film will be “A Young Man’s
Fancy,” a new production staged
by Marc Platt.
Co-starring Gary Merrill, Ml
chael Wilding, and Myoshl Ume-
ki, “A Girl Named Tamlko” was
filmed on location in Japan. The
Hal Wallis production was di
rected by John Sturges and is
in verdant woodlands created on
stage especially for the occasion.
With the Ballet will be soloists
Eugene Slavin and Ron and Joy
Holiday.
Other scenes will feature com
edian George Carl, the Flying
Kimris, a ’whirling apparatus act,
and an all - male singing ensem
ble with soloist George McWhor
ter. A "Concert in the Park” by
the Symphony Orchestra directed
by Raymond Paige will set the
stage for this preview of the com
ing season.
