AU, XuUu Alvin Ailey Theater To Dance In Brooklyn I * The Alvin Ailey Dance Thea­ ter. last seen at the close of the Shakespeare Festival in Central mrk. makes its first New York appearance of the season at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m. This concert is a benefit for the Waltann School of Creative AQ-ts. The -program will feature two new works by Mr. Ailey —. one based on the Theseus legend, dfcnced to a percussion score with Louis Falco, soloist, with Jose Limon Company, as figure. the lead The second features well-known dancer - teacher - choregrapher James Truitte and Mariko San- Jo, one of Japan's leading mod­ ern dancers. Miss Sanjo met the Ailey Company during its spring tour of the Far East under the auspices of the US State Depart­ ment Cultural Exchange pro­ gram. on the April 28 program will in­ clude "Gillespiana,” “Hermit Songs,”.. ."Revelations,” and "Roots of the Blues." The lat­ ter will feature Myrna White,cur­ rently dancing in the Broadway musical. "A Funny Thing Hap­ pened On the Way to The For­ um ” Also in Mr. Ailey’s com­ pany of 12 are Altovise Gore, Thelma Hill, Don Martin, Geri Seignious. B -bara Alston, Glen Brooks. Abbey Lincoln’s Grandassa Mo­ dels presented natural hair styles and fashions. Commentators Introduction of "Prelude T o Spring” Hair Styles and Fashions and acknowledgements were made by Mrs. Evelyn C. Hayes. Fash­ ion commentary was by Miss Lois Alexander and Mrs. Cath­ erine Basie with music played by Miss Victoria Hardman. Many Models Other fashions were modeled by Sarah Smith.
