Catholic
Thursday, May 23 was a holy
day for Catholics who were en
joined to attend Mass just •» on
Sunday. It conunemorated the
time when, 40 days after HU
reserrectioo, Christ ascended
into heaven In the sight of His
apoetles who returned thence to
continue in prayer in the Upper
Room.
And it foreshadowed the coro-
msrooratlon, June 2, of Panto-
coot, when the hitherto timid
apoatles, thetr faith confirmed
by the Holy Ghost which had
descended on them in the form
of fiery tongues, sallied forth
preaching the gospel.
