Broadjump Record Wiped Out ui wic x aging controversy over wrether eleven “small” colleges were eligible to compete in the NCAA Nationals. When the rul­ ing went against the eleven schools, Mayfield's record was wiped out, and his title handed over to the second place finisher. It was decided by the NCAA officials that the eleven. colleges uodld be declared ineligible to garner points or places in any events because they had by­ passed the NCAA Smail College Meet held last week, and there­ fore “had not qualified” for the NCAA NATIONALS AT Albuquer­ que. Mayfield, also the NAIA nat­ ional broadjump champion, will compete in the AAU Nationals in St. Louis, June 27, 28 and 29, shooting for a chance to make Harkness Signs For Jerry Harkness, former De­ Witt Clinton High School basket­ ball and track star and Chicago’s Loyola All - American, is train­ ing with the N.Y.
