Others In Cast
?
PhjUis Melbourne, also a very j
good actress, was quite charm- c
ing and vivacious as Leonora
Fiske, an attractive, outspoken, f
wealthy woman, later murdered
because of these very qualities.
Handsome Donald Hutcheson was s
ideal in his characterization of \
the young scoundrel, winning t
everyone on and offstage with ]
his amourous speech and man- i
nerisns, especially the saucy lit- i
rifle maid, wen portrayed by co- I
I quettish Lucy Gillman.
In direct contrast to these five
racy characters, Arlene Coleman
was the clever, soft spoken "Aun
tie-type,’’ one would hardly sus
pect of being the vicious murder
ess and thief she turned out to
| be, and Elaine Harley was quite
i effective as the very liberal, hu
manist. Suter Theresa.
Staging was very well done
. with Bly Leonard as stage mana
ger, plus Mical Wh.maker's ima-
i ginative sets and lighting, Mitchell
l Spottsville on properties and As
ton Young and Hugh Stroud as
, stage hands.
Director Franklin Thomas Is
very successful with his casts
which have been exceptionally
talented this year. Everyone is
invited to attend the Workshop’s
future plays and to their third
annual Awards Night, Friday, at
the Harlem Little Theatre —
YMCA 180 West 135th St.
