'Twas such an enchanting evening last Monday dining with the Azikiwe family of Nigeria at the high-up Edgecombe Avenue apart­ ment of the Clarence Holtes. The guest were Mrs. Flora Azikiwe, wife of Governor-General Nkrumah Azikiwe, who becomes the first president of Nigeria. upon their independence on Oct. 1—and she, of course, will be “First Lady of Nigeria*’; her sons Emeka Azikiwe, who has been attending the University of Michigan and Ernest Azikiwe, who is attending Lin­ coln University, who is the brother of the Governor General. Mrs. Azikiwe is a very beautiful woman, with great warmth and charm. The Holtes are hosts par excellence. And girls, let me let you in on a secret — both of these young men are handsome, charming AND SINGLE — and right here in NYC - for the summer. Mrs, Azikiwe left for Nigeria on Tuesday . . . - Atty. Paul Bethel of Nassau, New Providence, Bahama Islands and his beautiful, blue eyed, (for real) blonde bride, whom he married in London with all the trimmings where her parents hosted some 100 top people at the wedding and-reception, honeymooned here last week at the Taft Hotel. They have returned - * to Nassau to live ... 1 FRONTIERS’ ROUNDUP — When the Frontiers Internat­ ional Club of New York gave its Western Round-Up and Ju- Frontiers Round-Up The Frontiers International Club of New York entertained its guests at their Western Round- Up and Jubilee last Friday at the Sheraton-Tenney Inn at La Guar­ dia Airport Dancing to the music of Jasper Vaz and his orchestra the guests enjoyed square dancing, plus the samba, twist, swing, calypso, and cha-cha-cha. There was also a Sing Along, with David Joseph, the song leader. Mr. Hare wood, President Donald E. Harewood is presi­ dent of the club. Other officers are George A. The recent event was held at the Sharp Street Methodist Church in Sandy Spring. Mr. Hill was fired from his job 25 years ago for being unavoid­ ably 25 minutes late. A few hours later he started his own firm which has built some 500 homes costing up to 875,000. He hires some 100 persons and sev­ eral persons attended the ban­ quet from many cities.
