INTERNATIONAL SET . . . 'Twas such an enchanting
evening last Monday dining with the Azikiwe family
of Nigeria at the high-up Edgecombe Avenue apart
ment of the Clarence Holtes. The guest were Mrs.
Flora Azikiwe, wife of Governor-General Nkrumah
Azikiwe, who becomes the first president of Nigeria.
upon their independence on Oct. 1—and she, of course,
will be “First Lady of Nigeria*’; her sons Emeka
Azikiwe, who has been attending the University of
Michigan and Ernest Azikiwe, who is attending Lin
coln University, who is the brother of the Governor
General. Mrs. Azikiwe is a very beautiful woman,
with great warmth and charm. The Holtes are hosts
par excellence. And girls, let me let you in on a
secret — both of these young men are handsome,
charming AND SINGLE — and right here in NYC
- for the summer. Mrs, Azikiwe left for Nigeria on
Tuesday . . . -
