Spellman Joins Up - His Eminence, Francis Car­ dinal Spellman, of the Arch­ diocese of New York has be­ come the second Roman Cath­ olic Cardinal to Join the NAACP as a life member. He la 1961 by Rich- Cushlag, Arch­ bishop of the Diocese of Boston. The New Ysrk prelate re­ vealed his life membership in the NAACP in an address ded­ icating the Cornelius J. Drew House* la Harlem. Widely varied In nature, the problems and disputes handled by the Tenant Aid Unit generally require prompt Intervention. The Unit has prevented many evic­ tions and has been notably suc­ cessful in obtaining restitution of monies due to tenants for secur­ ity deposits and rental over-pay­ ments. Commissioner Badillo noted that many who seek public hous­ ing apartments have been helped by the Tenant Aid Unit to file the necessary applications.
