Globetrotter Of Court In Court Patrolman George Moore of the 23rd Precinct, and formerly of the Harlem Globe Trotters, fin­ ished a detective course A the Police Academy on Friday. Sat urday he was on foot patrol at 104th Street and Park Avenue, when he spotted a blue 1962 Ford sedan, in which the occupant seemed to be having trouble starting the car. Moore’s detective Instinct told him that it called for an invest! gation. He approached the occu­ pant, who was unable to satisfy the policeman with an operator’s license nor a registration. Moore took his prisoner to the precinct and booked him on a grand larceny charge. • The car had been stolen on January 13 from in front of 904 Tiffany Street, Bronx. Arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court. Eddie Sanchez, 21, port­ er, of 1581 Park Avenue had his case adjourned Jor a hearing at a later date before Judge Robert U. Molloy. Assistant District Attorney Ar­ chie A. Gorfinkel requested that Sanchez be held in $500 bail and complimented the officer on his observation. Airline Seeking Hostesses A major airline has indicated it will hire young Negro women as stewardesses and has sought the help of the New York Urban League in interviewing and screening applicants, the League disclosed thia week. Ramon Rivera,- Industrial Re- ationa Director for the Urban League for Greater New York, said Interviews will begin im­ mediately and that interested young women should contact the League at AU 6-8000 Mr. Rivera listed the following qualifications for the position — An applicant must be at least 19*4 but not yet 27, single or divorced; height - 5*2" to 5’8” — weigh 100-140 pounds in pro­ portion to height. Good Posture Vision must be correctible to 20/50 with glasses or 20/100 with contact lenses. All applicants must be high school graduates (two or more year? of college or business experience preferred). I An applicant must have good posture and appearance. She must be in excellent health and be able to pass a (light physical examination. She must have a pleasant shaking voice and ha­ bitually use good English. Also, each young woman ap­ plying must be willing to accept assignment anywhere in the con­ tinental United States and to ac­ cept living conditions as they exist along the company’s re­ spective routes. In reducing the term, the court had based its action on the grounds that Adams had been denied his constitutional right by the oversight of the sentenc­ ing court. ' Entrants wUl be notified as to Housewife Helps Trap Robber George McOroy, 20, of 1055 College Ave., Bronx, charged with assault and robbery, is be­ ing held without bail for action by the Bronx County Grand Jury.! McCroy was cornered in 281 E 153rd St., Saturday evening by three Housing Police officers after he was identified by Mrs. Dorothy Floyd of 700 Morris Ave as the youth who had robbed her of $10.80 at knife point the day before In the elevator of her building. Mrs. Floyd, mother of two, told the Amsterdam News thatMc­ Croy held the elevator door for her Friday evening when she re­ turned from her shopping and rode up to the eighth ftoor with her. She did not notice where he went. “1 told my children that I had forgotten to purchase something and that I was golnj back to the atore,” Mrs. Floyd Mid. “I got Into the elevator and it stopped at the sixth floor and McCroy who waa neatly dressed got on. This time he opened his penknife and demanded my mon ey. I was frightened I gave him |10. He fled. Saturday night »aw him enter the building at 281 E. 153rd St. and I summon ed the police Lt. James Shea Sgt. Calvin Lowe and Ptl.
