The bank will continue its dividend rate ol 4Mi% on savings in the bank one year or more. The new rate structure will go into effect October 1, according to Morris D. Crawford, Jr., Bow­ ery president. The decision to raise the div­ idend rate was made last week at a meeting of The Bowery's Board of Trustees, and comes at a time when several New York City savings banks have adjusted their dividend rates in response to the July SI removal of the ceiling on dividend rates by the New York State Banking Board. Tenants, homeowners and bus­ inessmen in each area will be able to get specific details about the proposed rehabilitation pro­ gram prior to public hearings which the City Planning Commis­ sion will hold on Septem)»er 23 and 24. The information center will be staffed by volunteers liv;ng in the proposed renewal areas. The Department of City Planning will also make available resource personnel and informational mat­ erials to assist the citizen groups.
